Haejangchon KBBQ Restaurant Shut Down

As part of an inspection Saturday evening, an official from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) visited Haejangchon Korean BBQ Restaurant on 6th Street and found violations that required the closure of the establishment for the night.

In particular, the space, which is permitted to have only 49 occupants, was found to contain a total of 118 persons. Equally, if not more alarming, illegal burners were found to be in use on the dining tables.

Hae Jang Chon expects to correct the situation by Sunday and have the place reopened.

UPDATE: It was observed on September 21st (Friday) that workers were installing a second doorway at Haejangchon, in order to comply with LAFD regulations.

Without a second entrance/exit, a restaurant of that floor area is not legally allowed to have more than 49 persons inside.
