Rhee Bros., Inc. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Egg in “ASSI” Brand Korean Cake (Gyeong Dan) 경단
RHEE BROS.,INC. of Hanover, Maryland, is recalling its 8-ounce packages of “ASSI” brand Korean Cake (Gyeong Dan) because they contain undeclared egg. People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled “ASSI” brand Korean Cake (Gyeong Dan) items were distributed nationwide in Asian food retail stores. The product comes in an 8-ounce, wrapped with plastic wrap on a tray. Its item number is 20649D on the label.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. — LA News Central
The recall was initiated after sampling by New York state food inspectors discovered that the egg-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of egg.
