LAFD Staff Shortages, Fire Station Closures

Message from Firefighters for Freedom

LAFD staff shortages

DEAR CITIZENS OF LOS ANGELES,

On Sunday, 10/10, your Fire Department has 76 vacant positions it cannot fill today due to a lack of staffing.

It’s important to realize that the LAFD is currently critically understaffed, and there are no resources currently deployed to long campaign brush fires.

The next few months are the most difficult to staff for any Fire Department. Resources are stretched incredibly thin as wildfires rage through CA.

In the middle of this, the City of Los Angeles and the people in charge of the Fire Department (Fire Commissioners) want to terminate any members not in compliance with the city v🪓 mandate.

Currently that’s approximately 40% of the entire Fire Department.

The danger to the public cannot be overstated.

Currently the public is being left at risk due to low staffing levels. To cut 40% of members from the currently depleted LAFD leads to nothing short of a catastrophic failure.

It cannot be sustained.

End this charade now.

Let the workers work.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS AND TELL THEM YOUR THOUGHTS.
